The month before Christmas
*T'was the month before Christmas*
*When all through our land,*
*Not a Christian was praying*
*Th e PC Police had just taken away,*
*The reason for Christmas - no one could say.*
*The children were told by their schools not to sing,*
*About Shepherds and Wise Men and Angels and things.*
*It might hurt people's feelings, the teachers would say*
* December 25th is just a ' Holiday '.*
*Yet the shoppers were ready with cash, checks and credit*
*Pushing folks down to the floor just to get it!*
*CDs from Madonna, an X BOX, an I-pod*
*Something was changing, something quite odd! *
0D
*Retailers promoted Ramadan and Kwanzaa*
*In hopes to sell books by Franken & Fonda.*
*As Targets were hanging their trees upside down*
* At Lowe's, the word 'Christmas' - was no where to be found.*
*At K-Mart and Staples and Penny's and Sears*
*You won't hear the word Christmas; it won't touch your ears.*
*Inclusive, sensitive, Di-ver-si-ty*
*Are words that were used to intimidate me.*
*Now Daschle, Now Darden, Now Sharpton, Wolf Blitzen*
*On Boxer, on Rather, on Kerry, on Clinton !*
*At the top of the Senate, there arose such a clatter*
*To eliminate Jesus, in all public matter.*
*And we spoke not a word, as they took away our faith*
* Forbidden to speak of salvation and grace*
*The true Gift of Christmas was exchanged and discarded*
*The reason for the season, stopped ere it started.*
*So as you celebrate 'Winter Break' under your 'Dream Tree'*
*Sipping your Starbucks, please listen to me.*
*Choose your words carefully, choose what you say*
*Shout "MERRY CHRISTMAS" ,
Please, all Christians join together and
Wish everyone you meet during the
Christ is 'The Reason' for the Christ-mas Season!
Homosexuality.
One word that stirs up a whole bunch of heated debate.
I have a view point, a theory on homosexuality, that usually pisses of both sides of the debate.
From the Christian standpoint, no one is born homosexual. I disagree. I believe that the majority of homosexuals are born that way.
Fellow Christians, please read the rest of the blog before you send me your responses.
From the homosexual point of view they are born that way and there is nothing wrong with it. I disagree. While I do believe most homosexual's are born that way, that doesn't mean it's okay. People are born with all kinds of things, some that take a while to manifest. Such as diabetes, schizophrenia, bi-polar disorder, cancer, cleft palate, etc., etc. The point being that not everything we are born with is a good thing.
And much like the diabetic has to choose whether or not to eat sugar or die, and the schizophrenic has to choose whether or not to take their medications or have a horrible existence, the homosexual has to choose whether or not to participate in a homosexual lifestyle that will guarantee them a one way ticket to hell.
God made Adam and Eve. Period. A man and a man or a woman and a woman simply do not fit well together. It is that simple. It is not about who can have children, or who can hire the biggest lobbyist to ram it down our throats under the guise of acceptance and tolerance.
Guess what folks? It is okay not to accept and tolerate everything. I don't have to and neither do you. Some of you will have great issue with this blog and will not accept it or tolerate it. And that is perfectly fine.
The issue is when the line is crossed. I have the right to say that I think homosexuality is wrong and here are the reasons why. I have the right to say I believe gay marriage to be wrong and here is why. What I do not have the right to do is take some one's home because they are gay, or beat them up, or take their money from them, etc, etc.
And conversely, a person that disagrees with me does not have the right to bash me or take things from me either.
That is where the line is and unfortunately people on both sides of this issue routinely cross that line.
I have often found it amazing that different groups of people would separate themselves by race, gender, etc., and then snivel about racism.
Listen up, one and all, if you form a group to separate yourself by race, gender, etc., then you are participating in a racist activity!!!!
It may not be a popular viewpoint, but it is true.
I am white. I am married to a very dark brown man, he is half American-Mexican and half American-Indian. Neither one of us can join the NAACP---because we do not have black skin.
My husband cannot join the KKK because he does not have white skin.
I am not saying that the NAACP commits the same heinous acts as the KKK. What I am saying is that both organizations, along with a long list of other organizations, do separate based on race, on the color of a person's skin. That, in my book, is wrong. No matter how pretty you wrap the package, no matter what size bow you put on the package.
In my children's high school, there is the African-American Club (should be American African), the Portuguese Pride Club, the Latino Club, etc., etc., etc.
Were someone to start a Caucasian Pride Club the people yelling 'racism' would be deafening. Why?
Look, I am not saying do not celebrate your heritage, your culture. Everyone has a heritage and cultural habits that they should be proud of. Even us American Caucasians. Case in point: We love to have fried pork chops with cold applesauce. It is soooooooooooo good. I mean how can you not eat it that way.
All I am saying is that as long as we have people and organizations that separate based on skin color, then we will continue to have people and organizations that do not realize we are all the human race. And that we should all be able to have our differences culturally and still get along.
Proposition 8 and the Mormom Church
I am not going to state my position on gay marriage at this point, as it has no bearing on this blog.
I do however, have a question: What is to be gained by blaming the Mormon Church for the passage of Proposition 8, the outlawing of gay marriage in California?
Let me state that I am NOT a fan of the Mormon Church, in fact they remind more of a cult than a church. However, they have the right to contribute to whichever cause they see fit.
And, if we were all being honest here, the majority of the public had their minds made up about gay marriage long before Proposition 8 and the Mormon Church ever crossed paths.
Do we not all remember what law the California Supreme Court stated was illegal that started the ball rolling towards Proposition 8 even being on the ballot? That marriage was defined as being between a man and a woman? That law was passed by the California voters several years ago, without any substantial help from the Mormon Church.
A majority of churches were against gay marriage. A majority of churches and their members actively came out against gay marriage and in support of Proposition 8. A majority of churches and their members donated their time and money to the passage of Proposition 8.
Therefore, one has to wonder why all of the focus is on only one church in particular?
It doesn't make sense.
Police -Good Samaritans or Criminals
It was all over the news recently about a man being given a ticket for driving in the wrong lane due to his wife being in active labor. That would definitely count as an emergency.
The officer apparently did not believe the woman was in labor, asking her what was under her shirt and then waiting while she lifted her shirt to show her belly.
Another item recently in the news: Police went to arrest a man on an outstanding warrant for suspicion of threatening his ex-wife. The man in question had contacted police previous to his arrest and told them that his father had died, that he was scheduled to be one of the pallbearers, and that he would turn himself in directly after the funeral. The officers in this case did not want to wait, apparently, and went to take the man into custody while he was carrying the casket. The casket dropped. The crowd at the funeral was incredibly upset.
This item did not hit the news, but I did witness it personally: A 15 year old girl was suspected of shoplifting. She asked for an attorney when the security guard placed her under arrest. She was then placed in a locked room with two grown male security guards, where she again requested an attorney and was again refused. Then three male police officers and her mother showed up. The mother was not allowed to be in the room while her daughter was questioned. The 15 year old girl requested an attorney two more times from the police and both times the request were denied. This 15 year old girl is locked in the room now with 5 grown men, all with badges of some sort, and the lead officer threatens to personally strip search her if she does not produce the so called missing item. Says he can do this as there is no female officer available. The officer did not strip search her after his threat, but he did search her purse, her hair, her pockets, shoes and socks a total of three times. He also retraced her steps through the store, again three times. NO merchandise was ever found on her or in her path. Yet she was still arrested. The charges were eventually dropped, without this girl ever having to go to court or pay a dime. But now, to this day, she is terrified of the police. If she ever needs help, she has no idea who she will go to, because she will never, ever call the police.
I know that most of society is thinking what I am about to say: We are afraid of the police. That is so sad. In a system that has run amok, there is no one policing the police. They can and do get away with anything. How does this change? And why do we, as American citizens, allow it to continue?
There are good, even great, police officers out there. We want and need them as a society.
But, more often then not, there are also the criminals that somehow got a badge instead of jail bars. What I mean by this statement is that there are a significant number of police officers that have a criminal mentality, that terrorize or otherwise abuse people, but never got caught and instead became police officers.
Then there are the police officers that started out wanting to do good and somewhere along the way, lost or forgot the reason they became police officers in the first place. The point is to protect and serve. Not to terrorize. Not to make a pregnant woman show her belly, or disrupt a funeral, or make sure a 15 year old girl is scared and looking around corners.
So how does this get fixed? We all know it's a problem. How do we make sure to reward and retain the good/great officers? How do we get rid of the bad ones, the criminals with badges? How do we make the ones that forgot why they started remember again?
